About Blue Hydrogen

Alberta has laid out a plan to become a global supplier of clean, responsibly sourced natural gas and related products including hydrogen.  “Blue” Hydrogen is hydrogen produced from natural gas by splitting it into its component parts – hydrogen and carbon.  The resulting hydrogen can be used as a reliable and clean source of energy.  The carbon is captured and moved to secure, deep underground storage reservoirs where it is measured, monitored and safely stored.
